UMO have have a new record coming out at the start of next month, February 2nd to be exact. The album, ‘II’ is available for preview here so make sure you check it out. Their drummer Greg (also drummer for Devendra Banhart and Megapuss) came and hung out last week when they were in town opening for Weezer. The boys took him down to Raglan for the weekend where he apparently made friends with the local rocks.

Check out the latest music video from Auckland-based band, Popstrangers. Heaven is the first single released from their forthcoming album ‘Antipodes’, due for release February 2013. Bleached – Think Of You | ( Music )
Here’s a summery track to get you through the rest of the week. Being based in New Zealand it is easy to forget there are others out there who are not about to enjoy a Summer holiday. So perhaps we’ll get some White Christmas tracks on the blog next week, and you can snuggle up with some eggnog, (whatever that is) and enjoy some good music infront of your fireplace. For those of you in the Southern hemisphere this track by “Bleached” goes out to ya’ll. Enjoy!

I’ve always loved this song by Memory House, since hearing it in this beautiful short by Blake Myers. I think they should of used his edit for the official music video but hey, you can be the judge of that. Click below for the full song and official video and below that for Blake Myers’ “Fog” short film.

Wes Anderson makes another film. It is great. It is shot on 16mm, therefore it is super great. It is shot by Robert ‘Bob’ Yeoman, so the cinematography is extremely great. The story is about love and the music is one of the best parts of the 94minutes. This track is aptly named Le Temps De L’amour by Françoise Hardy.
The Palms | ( Music )
This week we introduce The Palms, New Zealand’s new best band. Consisting of members from Cut Off Your Hands and KidsOF88, The Palms are breathe of fresh air. Their sound is honest and undefinable despite hinting at diverse sounds from Oasis through to The Beatles. Their dreamy single, Hermit, is available for free download below. Make sure you listen to it now!

Cults have been on high rotation this past month at White Box. Despite our best efforts to mix it up on Spotify, we just keep turning back to their self-titled album. If you were lucky enough to get to Laneway at the start of the year, this live version of Bumper is sure to trigger memories of sunburnt-shoulders, stupidly long alcohol queues and happy fun times bopping to Cults, M83 and Girls. ![]()
